Summer Initiative

As posted in our other two blogs, for the Summer of 2009 RCOS the team of Sean Austin, Diana Mazzola, and James Kolb will be switching to work on StudiDroid.

When trying to implement Beacon Security, an identical application was found and released just recently, so we could not proceed.

After thinking of the Connect Lock Screen, Google Engineers had posted that the Android OS does not support replacing the lock screen at this time.

We have already released the Beta version of StudiDroid and will be working all summer for a full release in the fall 2009.

Beta Release!

New on the Google Code page is a Beta Release of StudiDroid.

This version contains full functionality of all the functions we were intending to add. Hopefully, by the end of the summer, we can release StudiDroid to the Android Marketplace for free. Full commenting, bug fixes, and any other nuances will be addressed for the final release.

Enjoy the code!

Summer Project

For those following this development's team progress of StudiDroid, we will be adding an additional member and focusing on a new project. We will be working to finish the Alpha Release 0.3, and subsequently by the end of the summer a complete, commented, Beta Release 1.0

At this point, a working zip file is posted of our StudiDroid code on the StudiDroid google code page.

The project to come is: Beacon - Android Securitization

Powerpoint Presentation

Due to a technical difficulty, the Spring Alpha Release powerpoint presentation was not posted to Google Code. The presentation is now available for download.

Head on over to Google Code to see the up-to-date status!

Code

Currently the project is continuing at a strong pace. A database on the android has been implemented to store the input of the cards. The initial idea of parsing a text file from a desktop computer has been abandoned due to the conflicts with user ease. Instead the application will allow for direct input and save the values.

A fully functional app is on the way but for now the partial code will be released, fully commented, in the next few days. This code does not include the original artwork designed for the interface right now as this is being completed with photoshop.
